Single-mode and multimode
We test SM and MM installations in new networks, during handover and as part of system upgrades.

Fibre-optic testing · SM / MM
We verify the length and insertion loss of single-mode and multimode links and organise the results into documentation for the client, contractor or installation handover.
Scope of work
The service covers the parameters required to assess the quality of an installed fibre-optic link. We tailor the test scope to the fibre type, project requirements and handover procedure.
We can provide testing, certification or fibre splicing only, working as a subcontractor.
We test SM and MM installations in new networks, during handover and as part of system upgrades.
Bidirectional OLTS testing determines insertion loss, length and compliance with the selected limit.
Testing at 850/1300 nm for MM and 1310/1550 nm for SM verifies each link across the required operating range.
Results identify the link, test parameters and PASS/FAIL assessment in a clear, structured report.
Standards and documentation
We select the applicable ISO/IEC 11801 link limit and perform the measurement in line with ISO/IEC 14763-3 procedures. The AEM TestPro CV100 K60 platform expanded with Tier 1 SM and MM OLTS adapters measures insertion loss and length and assesses the link against the selected limit.

OLTS adapters
Dedicated single-mode and multimode adapter pairs support bidirectional length and insertion-loss testing at the wavelengths required for each fibre type.

Sample documentation
These anonymised excerpts come from a single-mode fibre report. Each link includes the result, measured loss, limit, margin and parameters for the required wavelengths. Project and device identifiers have been removed.
